Climate change and marine life

What is Climate change?

Climate change is a long-term shift in global or regional climate patterns. Often climate change refers specifically to the rise in global temperatures from the mid-20th century to present. But climate change does not seem to be taking a break, it has now gone to affecting the ocean.

What are the impacts it is giving us today?

The ocean has long taken the burnt of the impacts of global warning. Ocean absorbs excess heat and energy released from rising greenhouse gas. and because of this the ice in Antarctic is being melted and the water levels are rising and the islands are being fully submerged into the water such as the Solomon Islands this is a place where sea levels are rising. Our ocean. The ocean is a home to many living things and they are too affected- the water is polluted with harmful gases and the water heating up. This could affect the life cycle of the ocean.

What happens if we do such things to the ocean?

Human activity that adds CO2 to the atmosphere also warms the oceans, which can cause coral bleaching. When the water is too warm, coral releases the algae that give it its colour. The coral then turns white and often dies. Although coral reefs make up less than one percent of the ocean floor, they support 25 percent of all marine species. This leads to marine animals to go extinct or go endangered.

Come to a conclusion

rather than discarding plastic bottles and bags, we can reuse them or reduce them or we can recycle them and bringing own reusable water and reusable bags bottles this way we can save a huge number of marine animals, we can reduce the usage of plastics .
