LingoLex - a Wise Oaks program to develop multilingual fluency.
The unique name given to our Language Program has been derived from two words- Lingo meaning foreign language or local dialect and Lexicon meaning knowledge that a native speaker has about that language. Our aim in introducing new language to students is to teach and encourage them to respect other people: it fosters an understanding of the interrelation of language and human nature. Foreign languages expand one's view of the world, liberalize one's experiences, and make one more flexible and tolerant.Wise Oaks is designed to provide opportunities to the student to learn up to 3 languages, be fully immersed into the cultural diversity and be truly future ready.
At Wise Oaks, we strongly believe there are numerous benefits to being multilingual, multiliterate, and multicultural and school is one of the most conducive places to acquire new language(s) skills and competencies. To count a few of the benefits, multilingual people are better at observing their surroundings, understanding, and accepting others point of view, collaborate confidently and excel at networking. Research also points to the fact that learning second and/or third language improves memory, increases the ability to multi-task and aids in the learning of first language itself more effectively.
